Men’s Health

“Men believe they need to stay strong — to hold it together, to figure it out,” says Steve Warren, MD, DPA, and founder of Regenerative Wellness Center in Millcreek. “But when they start to break down inside, they don’t know where to turn.”

For men, from their late teens through their forties, the burden can be profound. Many suffer from fatigue, anxiety, depression, diminished muscle mass, weight gain, and a loss of confidence and self-worth.

Dr. Warren helps them reclaim their health by identifying and treating the root cause.

“By the time they walk into my clinic, they’re exhausted — physically, mentally, emotionally,” he says. “They’ve lost their drive, feel alone and scared, and some stop caring altogether. The problem is that their testosterone has dropped — and no one’s helping them.”

Testosterone is the primary hormone that fuels male well-being — regulating metabolism, red blood cell production, muscle and fat composition, cognitive clarity, and emotional stability. It’s produced naturally in the body, but stress, poor nutrition, environmental toxins, and aging can all cause levels to fall.

Without enough testosterone, everything unravels. And yet, most healthcare providers never even test for it.

“Traditional medicine isn’t touching testosterone replacement therapy,” Dr. Warren explains. “It’s often dismissed or demonized — blamed for heart disease, cancer, and other risks that simply don’t match the science. Most doctors don’t even run the labs. They’re discouraged from doing so by the system they work in.”

As men reach their late 30s and 40s, careers take precedence, children grow up, and relationships begin to strain under the weight of this hidden imbalance.

“Too often, this is when divorce happens,” says Dr. Warren. “I tell them, before you make any major decision, let’s check your hormones and optimize them. You might rediscover yourself again.”

Dr. Warren also treats young men in their late teens and twenties — a generation raised on ultra-processed food and chronic overstimulation.

“You see 18-year-olds who look unmotivated or disengaged,” he says. “People assume they’re just lazy or entitled, but when we check their testosterone, the levels are often shockingly low. Their diet and environment are stripping them of vitality.”

“They don’t need judgment,” he adds softly. “They need help — and to know this isn’t their fault.”

When men finally arrive for care, it’s often because their wife encouraged them, they’re struggling at work, or they’ve seen someone who looks and feels great — and they want the same.

“They’re usually hesitant and skeptical at first. But we laugh, we talk, and I walk them through it,” says Dr. Warren. “Education is everything. That’s when the fear lessens, and the hope returns.”

Dr. Warren’s testosterone therapy mirrors the body’s natural rhythm — small subcutaneous doses two or three times a week instead of a single large weekly injection. This keeps hormone levels steady and symptoms at bay. Dr. Warren has also developed a formulation that combines enclomiphene, boron, and vitamin C — along with a patented mucosal delivery system designed for absorption through the oral mucosa — to support the body’s own endogenous testosterone production.

The results can be transformative.

Take the group of contractors in their twenties, referred by their boss for weight loss support. “We ran labs, and every one of them had low testosterone,” says Dr. Warren. “After treatment, their boss called and said, ‘These are the best employees I’ve ever had. They’re on time, they’re creative, they’re motivated.’ That’s what happens when you feel good.”

Or the 33-year-old Veteran who suffered from PTSD, depression, and weight gain — withdrawn from his family and living on a long list of VA-prescribed medications. “With testosterone therapy, he started losing weight, feeling alive, and eventually came off 90% of those medications,” says Dr. Warren. “His wife told me, ‘I have my husband back.’”

“It’s a miracle how these men improve,” he adds.

Yet there are some men who carry a different kind of hurt — unhealed injuries.

Dr. Warren treats these injuries, along with joint, bone, and muscle pain, using Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) — a therapy that draws the patient’s blood, concentrates the platelets into healing serum, and injects it into the site that needs repair.

“The platelets act like conductors,” he explains. “They direct thousands of healing factors to precisely where they’re needed — whether it’s the shoulder, elbow, knee, or back. We’ve seen remarkable regeneration.”

Cardiovascular health is another major concern.

“Family history is the number one risk factor for heart disease,” says Dr. Warren. “But the real danger lies at the cellular level — with inflammation and mitochondrial dysfunction.”

Mitochondria are the energy factories inside cells. When they aren’t functioning well, they produce too many reactive oxygen species (ROS), which damage tissue, trigger inflammation, and disrupt energy production.

To reverse this process, Dr. Warren uses targeted antioxidant agents — Methylene Blue, PQQ, spermidine, NAD+, and lipid dissolving agents — to restore mitochondrial health, improve blood flow, and reduce systemic inflammation.

“Once those cells recover and return to health, your risk for heart attacks goes way down,” he says.

Every day, Dr. Warren meets men who are deeply worn down. He reminds them that they’re not alone, that healing is possible, and that they deserve to feel whole again. It all begins with taking that first step.

“I say this to all men,” he imparts, his voice reassuring. “Go get checked. Get the right labs. Get the right treatment. Take care of yourself — so you can enjoy your family, your work, and begin living life again.”

In his forthcoming book, The Living Chip, Dr. Warren expands on the regenerative philosophy that guides his clinical work — offering a powerful new lens for understanding men’s health at the cellular level. By exploring the body’s innate cellular intelligence, the book reveals what’s possible when we treat the root cause, support resilience, and restore the body’s natural ability to thrive.
